YouTube account suspended for no reason; suspected system algorithm error in play 0 Recommended Answers 22 Replies 9 Upvotes

My long running 10 year old YouTube channel “TheMida4” https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCLtRHaJ_gJ2h_InYkFG-txA  has been suspended without warning recently for "violations of YouTube's policy against spam, deceptive practices, and misleading content or other Terms of Service violations." However, I believe this to be a system error as I have published over 100 videos and none of my videos ever had a strike from breaking community guidelines. I repealed back in the email and it got denied with an automated response saying "We have decided to keep your account suspended based on our Community Guidelines and Terms of Service." After reaching out for hep, I even managed to get in contact with a trusted flagger on Reddit and after a lengthy explanation, he decided to check my channel using web-cache to see if what I'm saying is valid. He then said he found none of my videos should have violated this guideline but does not have the power to help escalate the situation further.

What I think happened to trigger the system's suspension is that I sent an application to apply for YouTube partnership program but forgot that 1 of my video had a copyright strike still active (I was battling the case for that at that time but the copyright should have long expired by now). The system saw the copyright strike as I was trying to apply for partnership and most likely got flagged by it thinking I was using deceptive content to get partnership status. However, the video itself was most definitely not spam, scam, deceptive practice or misleading content. It was my gameplay & cutscene video from the Magia Record mobile game which is content that I have always been posting just fine for years.

Can I please get a human rather than a bot to look into this case? A human would be able to understand the situation much better. Here are some screenshots that might help out

I occasionally reply to comments that people post on my videos but not too often as most of the viewer's comments are just the "lol that was funny" or "that was awesome" stuff. I comment when the viewer asks questions about stuff in my video such as hints on how to beat the level in that game or random discussions related to the game/anime's plot. I also sometimes comment on other people's videos but quite rarely and it's also pretty mundane stuff like "that was cool" or answer questions others have posted. But in all of the comments I make, I have not caused any sort of riots, attacked anyone or do any deceptive behavior of the sort as the last thing I would want to do is ruin my channel's image and reputation.

As for my videos, they are quite varied but I mostly focus on making those "let's play" style video for video games but mainly for boss fights. Example is my Zelda Skyward Sword video series of me fighting all of the game's bosses or the Metroid Other M video series doing the same manner. Another thing is I do piano cover songs for various video game and anime soundtracks. I also do vlog type videos of my almost annual trip to Anime Expo where I film various events, the exhibition hall, meet ups with the voice actors, food I eat there etc. I also upload personal family videos such as vacation trips or school projects for my friends and relatives to see but I put those as unlisted so my general audience don't see it. But all these videos are not deceptive, scam or spam in nature.

Here's the screenshot of the rejected appeal. If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask

Looks like the team is keeping the channel suspended...this is all they provided:

It's probably a difficult request from someone like me but can I get a dedicated staff from YouTube to personally look over the case so it won't just brush it off with a quick copy/paste reply? I have met some people that had their channel mistakenly removed because of a system mistake as well and they also got their appeal denied until a dedicated staff personally took over the case for closer inspection (see screenshot), which ultimately resulted in a successful appeal due to being able to explain the situation better. I just simply cannot accept that over 10 years of video making just vanished overnight without warning and without having done seemingly anything wrong. It is starting to affect my personal life on far too many levels as one of them include a recent job position with my graduate school where some of the staff and professors saw some of my YouTube videos (back when my account was not suspended) and was impressed enough with my video production skills that they reached out to me to consider hiring me to help with the school's video production. But with this whole debacle going on it's going to be extremely awkward to explain what happened.

I know this is a lot to ask for a small figure like me but can you please help me more on this case before moving on? I implore you from the bottom of my heart that you can reach out to a more personal YouTube staff that can see reason in this case as this punishment is just too devastating

I see. Hopefully they understand my situation after my lengthy explanation regarding my current school video production job situation among other things. Thank you for putting the extra time to hang on to my current case so far. Here's to hoping for a happy ending (or at least not another copy/paste denial reply from them)

The forum team does not have any access to the status of the email escalation at this point -- are you still able to reply to the email support team?

If anything there's still always the reappeal every 2 week I can do and hopefully one of them will get through eventually. I still cannot accept the fact that I somehow committed some offense even though I'm fully confident I haven't and even if theoretically I did (which I'm still saying I did not), there is no way that it can result in a sudden suspension without even a single warning for the past 10 years.

Even if it might take a year or possibly longer with the reappeals, I will keep on fighting.
